SF Glens MLS NEXT U17 Head Coach,
Daniel Zerabruk

To Whom It May Concern,

It is my pleasure to write this letter of recommendation for Nicolas Bee as he is pursuing admission to your college. I have had the privilege of coaching Nicolas for the past two years with the San Francisco Glens, and in that time, I've come to know him as not only a talented and remarkable soccer player, but also a standout young man with exceptional character, leadership, and drive.

Although I've coached him for two years, Nicolas has served as team captain for four consecutive seasons-a clear testament to the deep respect he has earned from his coaches and teammates over time. He leads by example in every sense. His positive attitude, strong work ethic, and relentless commitment to improvement set the tone for our team culture. Whether on the training ground or in competition, Nicolas brings an infectious energy and focus that inspires those around him. His communication on the field is sharp and effective, and his leadership has played a key role in building team cohesion and morale.

Nicolas played an instrumental role in transforming our team into one recognized as MLS Next's Team of the Month in October 2024-a testament to his commitment and ability to rally his peers toward a shared goal. His coachability is equally commendable. He is also one of the most coachable athletes I've worked with: eager to receive feedback, quick to implement it, and always striving to be better.

Beyond his contributions as a player, Nicolas is deeply involved in SF Glens' club community. He volunteers his time to mentor younger players, coaches our 2016 team, and has worked as a camp assistant over two summers-roles he's taken seriously and approached with maturity and enthusiasm. His leadership extends well beyond game day. The younger players look up to him and often look forward to seeing Nico on the field-his presence gives them both confidence and motivation.

Nicolas exemplifies what it means to be a student-athlete. He is mature, humble, driven, and passionate about the game, and I have no doubt he will bring that same commitment to his college experience. Any program would be fortunate to have him.

I wholeheartedly recommend Nicolas Bee for admission to your institution. Sincerely,

San Francisco, CA - May 27th, 2025

Coach Rene Manzo

I have been a coach for 20 years of high-level soccer in France (Ligue 1) and in the US.  12 years high-school  coaching and competitive women’s soccer in the US (college level).

For the last 5 years I observed Nico playing and developing into a good player.

Nicolas is an intelligent, smart player. His reading and knowledge of the game are very good.  He is always well positioned on the field. He is a strong defender in 1vs1 situations and zone defense as well.

His commands and communication with teammates are excellent and made with confidence.

He has good technical fundamentals of soccer.
Excellent first touch, accurate passing game, strong on high balls at both ends of the field.

On the field, he is a good team player, a leader and an intelligent captain.

I believe he has the potential and capabilities to become a great defensive player.
He is athletic, intelligent, dedicated and hard working player.
His emotions don’t affect his game and
Challenges make him a stronger player and person.

Academy Technical Director, San Francisco Glens , Waldamar Roldan

I am the Academy Head Coach of the San Francisco Glens Soccer Club. I was Nicolas Bee’s head coach for the 2020-2021 season and I am honored and happy to be asked to write Nicolas a recommendation letter for his application to the Archbishop Riordan High School.

Nicolas has been playing soccer since he was three and half years old. He has then played for several competitive soccer teams in the City (San Francisco Vikings, SF United) including the team for his own school. He has been playing with the Glens for two year and has been selected to play for the 2008 MLS Next team in the 2019 try-outs. MLS Next is the most competitive travelling soccer league in the US.

I love having Nicolas on the team because he is a kid who is passionate about soccer and committed to the success of his team. He always shows up on time at every practice and every game, giving his best. He is focused, obedient, helpful and is a kid with grits. His strong physical aptitude and being a “lefty” have made him a fixture of the team. In addition to his soccer skills, Nicolas is also a kind and helpful kid. He often volunteers to assist me in his sister’s soccer game as I am also the soccer coach for his sister currently.

I know that Archbishop Riordan High School has a strong soccer team and I know as well that Nicolas would be a great asset/addition to your team.

Please feel free to reach out to me if you need more information.
